The entry way all decked out. I'm still working on that quilt top of the sock monkeys.

Last Saturday Justin's mom threw us our awesome baby shower! There were so many people that came out, it was overwhelming at times. For those of you that were there, thank you so much for coming. I wish I could have sat and socialized with everyone longer. I felt so rushed and swamped with gift opening I hardly feel like I got to see my guest. But I had a blast! Justin and I are so lucky to have so many people that love us, and Henry, to bring us so many great gifts. Justin's mom Cathy made most of the food, her friend Mary brought a few things, her sister Annette made the amazing monkey cookies, and her friend's daughter in law Wendy, made the adorable monkey cake. I was eating all this great food for days! Cathy made the cute decorations for the shower. The monkeys are going in the nursery (without the diapers) and will match perfect. We got our entire crib set and mobile from Justin's parents, I can't wait to get it all set up. We got tons of cute clothes, toys, and necessities from everyone. I loved to the two incredible diaper cakes. Alexis made the one with the monkey on top, it was perfect. And Sooze made the giant one, it had 90 DIAPERS! With all the diapers and wipes we got he is covered at least 3-4 months. I feel so much better now that all the excitement is over. My dad is in town visiting this week and got us our crib and car seat/stroller combo yesterday. Now if I could just start getting it all together we will be ready. As soon as the nursery is done I will post pictures, just give me a few weeks to build all the stuff. Well my shower was better then I could have imagined. We are getting so excited to welcome Henry. Not too much longer now. I'm counting down.

30 Weeks!

So here we are at 30 weeks, I can't believe I have been pregnant this long. I am looking so big! We have about 10 weeks and counting left and I am starting to get a little antsy. I am not "sick" of being pregnant yet, I am still feeling good, I am just getting ready to meet Henry. I know our lives are about to change so much! I am excited and terrified st the same time! I have so many mixed emotions it is getting overwhelming and I am just ready to go through the scary labor and get my prize on the other side. My heartburn is managed now with a daily medicine. I am so glad for that! I am starting to get the middle of the back horrible back ache. I am so lucky I am not working right now and can lay down whenever I want and take a nap. I went last week and got an awesome prenatal massage which was so relaxing. Hopefully I am going to get a couple more of those before the baby comes. I am starting to want a lot of junk food! I didn't really have any strange cravings my whole pregnancy, it is just whatever I always liked I like 10 times more! So now lately I have wanted Dr. Pepper, chocolate, french fries, pumpkin spice egg nog, ice cream, etc. All the major food groups! I am such a bad mom already! LOL Oh well you are only pregnant a few times in your life right? All the rest of the time we have to watch what we eat, I am going to enjoy it while I can.

Kadence is 1!

Last night we went to Kadence's first birthday party. Brittany did a great job putting together such a cute party. I can't believe she is already one! She is such a gorgeous and happy little girl! We can't wait till Henry can interact with all of Justin's cute cousins, kids (I guess they will be his second cousins?) His only cousin (for a long time I'm sure!) will be Emerlynn, so we are lucky to have such a great extended family. Happy Birthday pretty girl! Adam and Brittany, you guys are so lucky to have such a sweet little girl!

Our Halloween Fun!

So here is a basic recap of what we did for Halloween. It wasn't really much, but we made it fun. Sam's boyfriend Geoph (pictured above) has a band called Avenue. They are a lot of fun to watch and play really cool music. They were playing 2 shows Halloween night and Sam was accompanying them on her violin. I really wanted to go, but of course we are way too freaked about the Swine Flu to go to any small place filled with teenagers. So that was out of the question. As was a movie or any parties on Halloween night that I wanted to go to. So a few days before we all got together and carved our pumpkins. I happened to love mine this year, he turned out so freaking cute! And we had a lot of fun hanging out with Sam and Geoph. Then on Halloween we came over to Cathy and Roger's place again to help hand out candy and watch the World Series. I could care less about baseball, but my husband comes from family of Yankees lovers, so that is who I route for too. Sadly there are not many trick or treaters in their neighborhood anymore. Ben brought over the adorable Brogan and Avery, and I saw a lot of cute kiddos. But not as much as in the past! But I still had fun handing out the candy and showing off my cute pumpkin belly! Cathy helped me make the shirt which turned out perfect. So we just hung out and had fun all night. It was nice, flu free and laid back. =)

Week 28

Well week 28 is almost over but it deserves some talking about. As I said before we went to the doctor the other day to find Henry moving around and looking right at us as usual. He is such a silly baby. We are getting so excited! I am however getting the two "H' s" of the third trimester, heartburn and headaches. I have tried 3 different heartburn prescriptions in the past month. I am finally on one that I think is working. Before I was pregnant I have always had a hard time with acid reflux and heartburn, that is part of why I don't eat meat (except the occasionally turkey and chicken.) So I knew pregnancy wouldn't be so kind in that area. But I just can't stand sleeping sitting up! So hopefully this will keep working until the baby gets here. Now I have had bad migraines on and off my whole life so I thought they would get worse when I was pregnant too, but they are just now getting a little annoying. I guess after the whole kidney thing not much bothers me. That was THE worst pain of my life! So other then those two things I have the regular aches and pains that I should have by now and I am coping just fine. It is hard to get a solid night of sleep anymore, but I guess that is just getting me ready for having a baby, right? Well with less then 12 weeks left now the tension and excitement is definitely building!

October Baby Update

Here is our newest peek at Henry! I love that profile shot on top, in the bottom one he looks a little squished but you can still see his chubby cheeks. He was all over the place because I drank a soda and ate a candy bar to do my glucose test today, so he was full of caffeine! On the DVD you can see him kicking, yawning and waving! He is such a character already, always looking at the camera (kinda like his mom! haha) We are in our 28Th week and on target growth wise. Henry is 2 lbs 11 oz, wow! He is active constantly and is already head down and ready to go. We have about 12 weeks left, which sounds like a lot on some days and right around the corner on others (it depends on what I feel like when you ask me.) We have my shower, and our birth class in the next month so I am super excited. We are slowly adding to our nursery, which is fun and stressful at the same time. On a side note, I have always hated my nose, so I am a little worried that his looks so prominent, but everyone keeps saying it will look very different when he gets out here. I know no matter what he will be the most beautiful baby I have ever seen to me. It is one of those stupid vain mom things to worry that he has a cute button nose, I should be worrying about bigger things! Or not at all, because he is doing just fine.

The Corn Maze

Justin and Me
Us, I look like I'm smuggling a pumpkin LOL

Me and some pumpkins

The pretty produce
Every year we go to a haunted house or two with a gang of friends and have some fun. This year I was thinking something a little less scary. One reason is I am a little top heavy and can't run so well from the chainsaw wielding maniacs, and two I don't think I want to stand in line with a bunch of people and get the flu. So we went to the corn maze at Black Hills Farm last Thursday night with Russ and Stephanie. We got there pretty late around 8, so we just did the corn maze, which was pretty fun actually. I wasn't sure what to expect being I had never done one before, but I liked it. Then we got some good food at the Holly Grill. Grilled corn, mushrooms and chicken on a stick, yummy. We walked around and looked at the animals and bought some cute little pumpkins. Then it was getting too cold to stand it and we all went home. Next year I would like to go a little earlier and maybe do a hay ride. But we had a lot of fall fun anyways.
