Pride!

So Sunday I met some friends at the Pride festival in Salt Lake. Earlier this year I took a training with the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault (UCASA), we had a whole night on GLBTQ (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and Queer.) I spoke to a member of the pride center about doing some volunteer work and coming out as a straight alliance supporter. I decided one easy way to get involved was to just go to pride day and see what it was like. I have had quite a few gay friends and this has always been a cause I have felt passionate about. After going this weekend I am thinking about volunteering next year and maybe helping with some other fun events throughout the year. It was a blast! The diversity of the people I met was incredible. There was so much love and support that made it such an awesome event. They even had an Obama supporters booth. I donated and got a bumper sticker!=) The picture is me, Rosanna and Linda. I am also putting up a couple more of the amazing drag queen floats and the pride flag which is a long as a football field! Everyone should go to Pride Day once!
