Tunes Tuesday

Thursday I went to a training in at the U for work and then Friday I went to a workshop in Salt Lake for work, so I got to see a ton of awesome speakers last week. I was lucky enough to get to bring Justin with me Friday to the Jackson Katz workshop. I have seen his videos in trainings I have done and read some of his literature scene I have been involved in this line of work and I have to say I love him. Even Justin was impressed with the talk he gave. We bought his book and got it signed, he was such a nice guy, and so freaking smart! The book is The Macho Paradox and his website is http://www.jacksonkatz.com/ Check his stuff out, it will give you a whole new out look on gender violence, how you raise your kids, and what we do as a society to our women. On that note I had to choose a song I hear a lot in my line of work, Better Man by Pearl Jam.

"Better Man" By Pearl Jam

Waitin', watchin' the clock, it's four o'clock, it's got to stop

Tell him, take no more, she practices her speech

As he opens the door, she rolls over...

Pretends to sleep as he looks her over

She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...

She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Ohh...

Talkin' to herself, there's no one else who needs to know...

She tells herself, oh...

Memories back when she was bold and strong

And waiting for the world to come along...

Swears she knew it, now she swears he's gone

She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...

She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...

She lies and says she still loves him, can't find a better man...

She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Yeah...

She loved him, yeah... she don't want to leave this way

She feeds him, yeah... that's why she'll be back again

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better man

Can't find a better... man...
