So I am a child of the '80's, and I love the music. I am not really shocked by Micheal Jackson's passing, just saddened. I remember my parents playing the Off The Wall and Thriller records. I remember dancing with my friends to the Bad video and I remember loving MJ. I feel he was an intricate and special part of our cultures DNA. He was a cute young boy and an amazing young man who turned into a sad and lonely adult. I once watched a documentary about his horrible family life and tough childhood. It is no wonder he turned out the way he did. When the allegations came out in the '90s, I didn't know what to think. I was never sure one way or the other and I think that is how it will always be. He was a very misunderstood man, but I don't think anyone can take away what he gave to our culture. I want to remember the good things about his legacy like scaring my little sisters with the Thriller video, I want to remember him dancing with Macully Culikin and all the amazing ground breaking videos he made. That is the Micheal Jackson that was part of so many of our childhoods. =)
