I am sure everyone by now realizes I have a little problem with all things Twilight. But really my "problem" far exceeds just that universe. For as long as I can remember I have been a vampire nerd. I love all things vampire! I can't count the Halloweens I played a vamp, or the number of books I have read or movies I have seen just because the were about vamps. I am a sucker for anything vamp! No my love didn't just start with Twilight, but it has just been reawakened by it. So while I have been impatiently awaiting Breaking Dawn I have gone on to start a couple of other vampire book series. First I have to tell you about the new Twilight trailer that was on Entertainment Tonight last night!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwqp_fOCHow I have only watched it about 10 times... today. So check it out! It rocked my socks!
Now on to other vampy things. I just finished this book called Wicked Game.

It is about Ciara, she is a cool character who just got a job at a radio station. Then she found out all the DJs were vampires! Each vamp specializes in the music of the era they were "made" in. It was a good quick read, and I couldn't put down. And I am so excited to find out there is already talk for a sequel coming May 2009: Bad to the Bone. Another interesting thing about this story is the fun website that accompanies it :http://www.wvmpradio.com/. It has all the stories and playlists of each of the vamp DJs. A fun summer read!
The next series I started was the Southern Vampire Series or The Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries. Whichever you want to call them, they are the same thing. I am apparently way behind this bandwagon because I just read the first book and then found out there are now 8 books out. So I better get going! This series is about Sookie Stackhouse, telepathic Louisiana barmaid and friend to vampires, werewolves, and various other odd creatures. I loved reading all about Sookie and her new love vampire Bill so much that I breezed through the first book and I am dying to get 2 and 3 from the library!(Stupid waiting list!)Here is the authors web site: http://www.charlaineharris.com/index.html
These books have been so successful that HBO is making a show starting in September called True Blood. You can find info here http://true-blood.net/ and here http://www.hbo.com/events/trueblood/ I don't have HBO but my sisters do and you will be able to get them on i tunes, so I will be finding a way to tune in.
