Maternity...

So here is a little post about being pregnant. I went to Target today to try on a ton of maternity clothes. I walked out empty handed, not really liking anything I tried on! I have bought a couple of large dresses and shirts lately but can't really find any real maternity clothes yet. I have looked at Motherhood even, but most of their stuff is still too big for me. Now mind you I really haven't put on much weight yet, I will be at the half way mark by the end of this month and as of yesterday I hadn't even put on 10 pounds. Now granted I had those evil kidney stones, and a lot of appetite and queasiness problems. The doctor said not to worry, the baby is big enough so eat what I can when I can and the pounds will come. Trust me I'm not rushing that! But your whole life you try to keep the pounds off so putting them on is a lot harder then I thought it would be! But I am a little of an awkward shape with this bump right at the middle or my waist where pants must fall below or they can't be buttoned. So it is a little frustrating and I am wearing a lot of pajama type clothes unless I have somewhere special to go. Or maybe one day real maternity pants might fit me. So while we are on the subject I have a few pregnancy questions for all you great moms out there. Is there really any cream to help with stretch marks? They are already on my thighs, I knew that was inevitable, but I want to protect my belly if at all possible. And when did you start wearing maternity clothes in your first pregnancy? Did anyone take birth classes the first time? We really want to, but I don't know how many people really do it. And I am pretty scared of the epidural, but my doctor says it is better then to go without. I already have a little labor anxiety, I am just trying to learn all I can to help me feel better about the whole thing. I just want a little input from some real moms out there. Any advice would be appreciated. =)

I used belly creams like they were going out of style. I didnt get any stretch marks till 34 weeks and that was just one. After labor I got a few more. I hear they dont work but I see no harm in trying them. I hear burts bees is a good one. I started wearing maternity pants around 15 weeks. I loved old navys maternity, but i bought a lot online too. Epi was my best friend in labor, I couldnt have done it without. I give major credit for anyone that goes natural but for me, no way. I got to enjoy my labor a lot more too once I got the epi. It doesnt hurt and its amazing how it takes the pain right away! We took a birthing/hospital tour class. We really enjoyed it. It was only one saturday though so not too bad. Hope this helps, dont be too nervous you will do great!
