My Offical Review of Watchmen...

Well, last night we went and saw Watchmen at Jordan Commons on the Imax! I will just give a little review; I was very excited being that I have read the graphic novel and loved it, I couldn't wait to see how it translated to the screen. Well I would have to say first off that I wasn't disappointed. The look of the movie was, and not to sound to cliche, "visually stunning." I loved the costumes, the sets, the way the colors jumped off the screen. I loved the hard hitting, cringe worthy action. It was amazing and exciting! They really didn't hold back on any of the plot or any of the visuals. Now with that being said this was an incredibly graphic movie, with the sex and the violence both being heavy. I was very "R" rated (they were carding at the door!) and sometimes hard to watch in such a real way. I would have to say if you read the book you would have to see the movie. It is everything you could want and an almost perfect adaptation, except for the few little climax changes. Which I think panned out pretty well. If you have never read the book, it might be a little harder to follow, and you might not be prepared for the gravity of the more graphic scenes. The violence ranges from assassinations, to disgusting murders, to brutal fight scenes, to people losing limbs and plenty of blood spraying everywhere. So definitely not for the faint of heart. And if you are against crazy sex scenes or male full frontal nudity, you should probably not go, because there is plenty to be had. It was what I expected after reading the novel, but maybe a little too existential and dark for most people. Oh yeah, and at almost 3 hours long, I was ready to go home the second the credits were rolling. But over all I was very pleased, and excited to see something other then your typical superhero fare. But if that is what you want, this movie is not for you. Just keep that in mind, when you go to see it, this movie is different them anything you have ever seen, in a good way.
But you don't have to take my word for it, here are some other reviews, =)
